Come Fly With Me – Pīwaiwaka Fantail Christmas Decoration

Bring a little Kiwi Christmas magic to your tree with the beautiful Come Fly With Me – Pīwaiwaka/Fantail Christmas Decoration, featuring artwork by talented Northland-based New Zealand artist Katy Hayward.

The delightful design features a dancing pair of pīwaiwaka (fantails) swooping through the air, spreading their beautiful wings and distinctive tail feathers while carrying delicate banners of mānuka. The joyful artwork celebrates these much-loved little native birds and their playful, energetic nature.

Katy's artwork was inspired by her love of exploring beautiful bush walks with her family and the joy of having friendly fantails darting and chasing around her daughter. It's a beautiful celebration of Aotearoa, native wildlife, family and aroha.

A Beautiful Kiwi Christmas Keepsake

The pīwaiwaka, or fantail, is one of New Zealand's most recognisable native birds. Their long tail feathers help them twist and turn through the air as they hunt insects, making them a fascinating and much-loved part of our native wildlife.

The Come Fly With Me Christmas decoration makes a thoughtful New Zealand Christmas gift, Kiwi gift or special Christmas tree keepsake for anyone who loves native birds, nature and beautiful Aotearoa artwork.
